Display of Relevance? - Ram Mandir donation 

 

After the 2019 Supreme Court verdict on the Ayodhya dispute, it was decided that the disputed land be handed over to a trust formed by the Indian government for the construction of a Ram temple. 5 February 2020, it was announced in the Parliament that the Narendra Modi government had accepted a plan to construct the temple. and since then a massive collection of donations begin from around the nation and even from other countries as well. Falling democracy - Myanmar 

 

Myanmar shocked the world on February 1st, 2021, as its military staged a coup, seized power, and declared a state of emergency in the country for a year. Civilian leader Aung San Suu Kyi was detained along with other members of her National League for Democracy (NLD) party, as the military declared void their landslide victory at the polls. Wake up call - Chennai water crisis 

 

Chennai has a population of around 11 million people but it does not have any perennial rivers for the water supply. They are mostly dependent on the north-east monsoon rain and four large reservoirs for the water requirements. But heavy dependence on the reservoirs is getting dangerous now. Chennai made international headlines in June 2019 when the officials declared that Day Zero had arrived the moment when all four of the city's reservoirs had become dry. The crisis gave rise to extreme steps to provide relief, including transporting water by rail from a town more than 200km away.
